Most of TORNADO PC plug-in DSP Systems for ISA/PCI-bus and TORNADO-E
stand-alone DSP Controllers feature the on-board parallel I/O expansion I/F site(s), which
allow installation of high-speed application specific AD/DA/DIO
and DSP Coprocessor daughter-card modules (DCM) in
order to meet a variety of customer applications. Depending upon the TORNADO
mainboard design, the on-board parallel I/O expansion I/F site might be either the PIOX or
lite PIOX-16 version. |

PIOX-16 I/F site is designed to carry the AD/DA/DIO DCM with 16-bit data bus. PIOX-16
I/F site assumes communication using full 16-bit data words, and is normally a subset of PIOX site. PIOX-16 is used in TORNADO-54x
PC plug-in DSP Systems and TORNADO-E stand-alone DSP
Controllers, and, as a subset of PIOX site, appears in
all 32-bit TORNADO-3x/4x/6x/P3x/P6x
DSP Systems for PC.
PIOX-16 I/F comprises of the following TTL/CMOS compatible signals:
